Vol. 1 contains binder's waste of a theological nature, discussing Lutheranism. Vol. 2 contains binder's waste from a work of a scientific nature, discussing an experiment with an air pump. Additional binder's waste appears to be from a work on the bible.
Volumes 2 and 4 contain the signature of William Hanbury (1780-1845), dated 1832. Hanbury was a Member of the British Parliament for Northhampton, who was a staunch supporter of Catholic relief, which, repealed the restrictive laws which disallowed catholics from sitting in the parliament at Westminster and allowing freedom of worship for Irish Catholics serving in the British Army.
Significant annotations and marginalia in both pencil and ink, possibly by both Hanbury (Pencil) and Goold (ink).
